How to remove these fuel injector electrical connectors without breaking them

is at that place a special trick to these or do I just accept to continue struggling with a skinny tool to pry that piddling metal prune that braces the bottom of that blue connector? I just want to brand sure there desire a nice like shooting fish in a barrel niggling play a joke on that could save me some time. I already broke off a little piece of plastic. Cheers

The easiest way that I have found to do this without breaking the plastic is to remove the rails and remove the injectors. This gives you aplenty room to work and wiggle the clips off.

FWIW the plastic landing is needed to hold that prune in place. If yous pause that landing off, in that location volition literally be nothing belongings the plug onto the injector. I know because information technology happen to me. The injector came unplugged every bit I was tuning. Of grade I got a check engine light and stopped immediately to avoid whatever damage.

A 90 degree pick works perfectly. I can accept them all 4 off in less than thirty seconds.

Curved or Angled picks are ridiculously handy with these darn clips.

Aye, you had the ones that Wrex had for whatsoever reason where yous just squeeze the buttons and pull them up. these lock on like the CAS sensor with a metal clip.

Always the kickoff mod I do on whatsoever car I buy, swap in those quick connect injector clips as seen in the youtube video. I can sell you some if yous want, I always keep about 20 on hand. Can be plant in the junkyard on various Chrysler and dodge minivans, those types are nicer than ones found on 2g's.

Nope. Just press down on the wire at the top with your thumb and popular the connector off, and they just snap back on without worrying about the clip at all. I've been using them for 4 years or so now and they piece of work great.

My clips are 20 years former, and I never had a trouble removing them.Although I did loose ane of the metal clips peices.

Never had a trouble taking out the metal clip, then removing the clip.

Or said before, take the rail off and it will give you a meliorate hazard at not breaking, and not loosing stuff.

i would remove the fuel rail and then yous as much room every bit possible.. and if you can become your easily on a small piffling selection like a needle and pop the clip out information technology shouldn't break..

I haven't had whatsoever problems with mine nevertheless either, but when I get bigger I don't want to take an issues since 20yr old wiring is long by information technology's prime. I'one thousand also looking at re-routing and maybe thinning out the harness when i get there. Are at that place any aftermarket connectors like that for the TPS & CAS ??

Not that I've constitute. I built a "hybrid" CAS that uses the pigtail connector from a 'xc model, which then ties into my '92 harness using new aftermarket connectors.

For the TPS, I recollect nosotros're out of luck (other than reversing it to clean upwards the wiring and replacing the screws with allen heads and so information technology'southward easy to loosen and accommodate ;)) . I would love to know if someone finds a new replacement for that connector though.

I simply ordered four of those. At present the question is how exercise I install them? Can I merely unplug the four injector wires from the loom and take it within or am I stuck either cutting wires and working outside with the soldering iron? I know I saw a YouTube video for a 2g that yous can unplug the whole 4 at one time and have information technology on the bench.

My number iv harness wire is broken I have it taped on the wires twisted together and taped. Noticing the car cuts out and studders some this probably why.

Also all 4 of mine are missing the metallic clips. And then I need to just do all iv I ordered the complete kit assembled with the wiring etc..It was but $26 westward/shipping.

And so aye let me know how to practice it?

Each harness I bought has quite a fleck of wire. Can I unplug all 4 wires together somewhere off the main harness or would I accept to cut them somewhere? Information technology's 93.

Y'all will accept to cut the old connectors off and solder the new ones on. At that place is no was around it. Information technology's a very simple task though.
